Case study

Ceraform — a 3D mould that assembles as you scroll

For over thirty years, Ceraform has been making in Limoges the moulds the ceramic industry casts its pieces in. I rebuilt its website to finally show that craft: a porcelain piece, then the moulds that give it its shape.

Where it started

The previous website dated from 2019 and is no longer online. An archive remains (Wayback Machine, February 2024): a full-page workshop photo, a block of text laid over it, a red button.

Nothing explained the trade. Yet a pressure-casting mould can't be understood from a photo: you have to see its two halves close.

What changed

  • The trade, shown. I modelled the male and female moulds in 3D. They close as the visitor scrolls down the page, one step after another.
  • A website that reads like a book. Cream background, serif type, the brand red, a visible grid: closer to a fine book than to an industrial catalogue.
  • Two languages. French and English, switched in one click from the header.

The website, screen by screen

  • The statement, right after the first screen
  • Ceraform's new website on a phone
  • The 3D mould, assembling on scroll
  • The process, with the company's figures
  • The gallery, by product family
  • The services, as an accordion
  • The workshop, in photos

After: Lighthouse 13.5.0, mobile, median of 3 runs, on 11 October 2026.

Before: Lighthouse 13.5.0, mobile, median of 3 runs, measured on 22 Oct 2026 on the Wayback Machine archive of 25 Feb 2024 (the archive adds some latency).

Lighthouse 13.5.0, mobile profile (simulated slow 4G), median of three runs, on October 11, 2026: 1.8 s LCP, 100/100 for accessibility (no errors found on contrast, heading order or alternative text) and 100/100 for best practices.

Since the old website is no longer online, I measured it on October 22, 2026, with the same protocol, on its Wayback Machine archive of February 25, 2024 (the archive adds some latency): LCP of 6.8 s, 81/100 for accessibility and 92/100 for best practices.
